Overview

Lumba Sumba Peak (5200m) is the main attraction of the Lumba Sumba pass trek. The trek runs through Kanchenjunga Conservation Area (KCA) and Makalu Barun National Park in the eastern Himalaya where trekkers can observe different birds and wildlife species, including the endangered snow leopard and red panda. Through the route, one can also trek to the base camps of Mt Kanchanjunga (8586m) and Mt Makalu (8463m).
 
Lumba Sumba Pass Trek is an adventurous trek in the eastern Nepal. The trek from Fungling to Tumlingtar is the most appealing with beautiful Himalayn scenery. The Lumba Sumba trek going through the Kanchenjunga Consevation Area, will allow an encounter with varieties of plant, birds and mammals.

Trip Itinerary

Fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and same day fly from Biratnagar to Suketar. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Suketar (2420m) to Mitlung(909m) via Fungling to takes about 7 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Mitlung to Chhiruwa (1246m.) takes 6 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Chhirwa to Lelep (1695m.) takes about 6 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Lelep to Ila Danda (2051m.) takes about 4.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp

Trek from Ila Danda to Selep (2525m.) takes about 5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Selep to Olangchun Gola (3208m.) takes about 5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Olangchun to Langmale (3893m.) takes about 5.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Langmale to Pass Camp (4700m.) takes about 5.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Pass Camp to Yak Kharka (4595m.) takes about 4.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Yak Kharka to Thudam (3571m.) takes about 6.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Thudam to Yak Kharka (2877m.) takes about 5.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Yak Kharka to Chyamtang (2229m.) takes about 6 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Chyamtang to Hatiya (1585m.) takes about 6.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Hatiya to Gola (1128m.) takes about 5.5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Gola to Hedanga Gadi (1179m.) takes about 5 hours. Stay overnight in camp.

Trek from Hedanga Gadi to Num (1560m.) takes about 2 hours. On the same day drive from Num to Chichila (1889m.). Stay overnight in camp.

Drive from Chichila to Tumlingtar (405m.). Stay overnight in camp.

Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu takes about 40 minutes.
