The mountain flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan takes you close to the great Himalayas, offering dazzling scenic views of some of the world’s highest peaks. Our representative will meet you at Paro airport, and drive you to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu.

Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan, a bustling town and home to Bhutanese Royal family, the government and the judiciary and to several foreign missions and development projects.
Today you will be on a half day sightseeing tour of Thimphu starting with National Library, which contains the best collection of religious and historical literatures in the Himalayas. Up next you visit the Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck followed by 15th century Changangkha monastery and Handicraft Emporium. After lunch drive to Punakha crossing over Dochula Pass (3100m).

Early morning tour of Punakha Dzong, situated in the middle of two rivers, Pho chu and Mo chu. Afterwards hike to the beautiful Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten. Post lunch you drive to Paro via Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fort in Bhutan.

After morning breakfast you go on a full day sightseeing of Paro. Hike up to the Taktsang monastery also called Tiger’s Nest which takes around three hours. Next visit the old fort ruins of the Drukgyal Dzong which on a clear day looks out to Mt. Jhomolhari (7314m) along with Ta Dzong an ancient watchtower, which now houses the National Museum. Below the museum is the Paro Rimpung Dzong. literally meaning ‘Heap of Jewels’. Also visit the 7th century Kichu Lhakhang by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gampo. In the evening take a tour of traditional farm house to get insight into the Bhutanese way of life.
